In The News
Friday, Friday, Friday, what more can I say. I have worked hard all week and now I am ready for my weekend and I hope that you are too. Remember to read In The News and don’t forget to tell your friend about it.
- Did you read about the Miss California blunder? It seems that the Miss California USA organizers made a big mistake. The trouble began last month when they crowned Miss Los Angeles, Christina Silva only to backtrack days later blaming a vote tabulation error. Miss Barstow, Raquel Beezley, a 21 year old waitress they said rightfully earned the title was crowned. Miss Silva responded by hiring a lawyer. For the record, I like them both.
- Did you read about Michelangelo’s last sketch? A sketch for the dome of St Peter’s Basilica has been discovered in the basilica’s offices possibly being his last design before his death. The sketch, drawn in blood-red chalk for stonecutters who were working on the construction of the basilica, was done by the Renaissance master in the spring of 1563, less than a year before his death. That could be worth quite a bit of change
- Did you read about Santa’s speed? Have you ever wondered how fast Santa has to travel in order to deliver all those presents?. Well, Sweco a Swedish consultancy has concluded that Santa’s reindeer must travel at a speed of 5,800 kilometers (3,604 miles) per second to make the trip on time. That is fast all right.
