Eleven Day Weekend

Monday, December 24th, 2007

Flower.comThe weekend was so nice, I didn’t do that much. I went to bed late and I woke up even later because I was playing Call of Duty 4 for most of the weekend. I didn’t have to worry about doing any Christmas shopping because I finished last week. And to top it all off I am off for the next nine days and you know that I am not complaining about that in fact that is the way I like it because long weekends are my specialty. I did go to Bestbuy on Sunday but I didn’t find what I was looking for. I then went to the AT&T store and looked at the iPhone and the more I see it the more I want it. Something I must really get is an eye exam and new glasses but knowing me I know that is not going to happen any time soon. Is a man thing, we go see the doctor when we are close to dying or in my case when I can’t see anything. Wait a sec, if I can’t see then I can’t play COD 4 or blog for that matter, I am calling today.

Play time is over for the time being and now I have to get back to work on my new blog. I still have not found a webhost and hopefully this week that will change. And lets not forget that there is always something to do at home so this week is going to be busy but relaxing. I mean, I can take a break any time I want. Time to get some work done………………….but before that I will take a break.

In The News

Friday, December 21st, 2007

Welcome to another edition of In The News. Put that Christmas list down for a second, get yourself a cup of coffee sit down and read In The News and don’t forget to tell your friends about it.

  1. Did you read about the $9000 dollar video game? It seems that after getting his son the hard to get Guitar Hero 3 for the Nintendo Wii for Christmas for $90 dollars a father sold the game on eBay for $9010 dollars. The reason he sold the game was because he found his son smoking pot with two of his friends in the backyard to punish him and discourage him from smoking dope. Sounds like somebody was real naughty.
  2. Did you read about the Magna Carta? It seems that a 710 year old copy of the declaration of human rights sold for $21.3 million at auction. The buyer  David Rubenstein of The Carlyle Group, a private equity firm. It is one of 17 known copies of the historic paper, it bears the seal of King Edward I and dated 1297. I was going to big on it but I was too busy working on that blog I told you about.
  3. Did you read about the perfect poison for fleas? It seems that a vacuum cleaner kills fleas just as well as any poison. Surprised U.S. researchers said that a vacuum cleaner kills 96% of adult fleas and 100% of young ones.  Glen Needham, associate professor of entomology at Ohio State University said “We didn’t do a post-mortem, so we don’t know for sure. But it appears that the physical abuse they took caused them to perish.” Good to know.

I Have Been Thinking, Part 2

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

As I mentioned in a previous post I am in the process of setting up another blog. I have the topic I am going to be writing about, the name and I am currently looking for one more piece of the puzzle which is the webhost. While all of that has been going on this crazy thought came into my head and I don’t know if I am.

  • a. crazy
  • b. biting more than I can chew.
  • c. I don’t know what I am getting myself into.
  • d. All of the above.

The crazy idea is this, another blog. This one would be a personal blog basically to write about my everyday boring life. I have been brainstorming thinking of a name and have come up with a few and once I find something that I like then I am going to find out if I am really “d”. I could do that with Weekendshere once Gainsnlosses is up and running but then again I don’t know if Weekendshere is the place for a personal blog, what do you think?. Time will tell if I am right or wrong about this new idea, stay tuned.

Wednesday Video

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

Three days and counting until the weekend and more important that eleven day Christmas break. Tuesday was a rainy day but no rain is expected today. I kinda like rainy days, something about them. Anyway, last week’s video was “Round And Round” by Ratt. Every time I heard that song I can’t help but turn the volume up, up and ouch my ears. And that brings us to today’s video, hope you like it.

I Have Found A Name

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

No I have not found a webhost just yet but what I did find this past weekend was a name for my new blog. I had a name in mind going in and I pretty much got the name I wanted. With this name, once you go to the blog you won’t have to ask yourself what the blog is about because you will know by the name what the blog is all about, at least that is the idea. The blog will be a one topic blog unlike Weekendshere where you can find a wide range of topics. The name of the blog will be Gainsnlosses.com and will be about my pursuit for financial independence, aren’t we all looking for that?.

If you are a regular reader of this blog then you know that I already have an Investing 101 category and that will migrate to the new blog starting in 2008 which is just around the corner. Yes that means that Investing 101 will no longer be a regular post in this blog so make sure you read the last Investing 101 report sometime next week. I am very excited about this new blog and plan on working as hard as I can to make it succeed. I am going to look for a webhost next, stay tuned.
