In The News

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

Today is Friday and I don’t have to go to work thanks to the thanksgiving day holiday. That doesn’t mean that the news business stops so we bring you In The News because you need to be informed.

  1. Did you read about the rogue cell phone? It seems that a rogue cell phone keeps dialing 911, operators received about 400 calls last week and no one seems to be on the other line. Officials can’t locate the phone but have figured out that it is an old line not currently associated with a cell phone provider. Such phones, once charged up, can still place 911 calls under Federal Communications Commission rules set in 1994.
  2. Did you read about the EMIEW 2 robot? It seems that Hitachi unveiled a new light weight robot on Wednesday. Standing at 31.5 inches tall and weighing in at 29 pounds it can either walk on two legs or roll on two or four wheels while conversing. In a demonstration near Tokyo, Hitachi showed how the robot, clad in a red jacket and cap, could be used to bring drinks or paperwork or guide guests at an office. Where do I sign up for mine.

Thanksgiving Quick Hits Of The Day

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

First thing is first, I wish you and your families a happy Thanksgiving, I am thankful because my family is healthy, thankful that we can spend this day together. My God my family and my friends are number one in my life because they will always be there for me no matter what.

Here we are on the first Saturday of the four day weekend. This break will do me a lot of good and I am planning on enjoying it as much as I can. Stay safe and lets take care of each other out there.

Well the time is almost 6 AM as I write this. I have been online all night watching videos, reading articles and one thing that I haven’t done yet is to play COD 4 and that surprises me. Hey, there is plenty of day left and I am sure that sooner or later I will play. Did I mention that I am a Captain now?, that is me all right.

The LA Autoshow runs from November 16-25 at the Los Angeles Convention Center and it happens to be open today and we kids were thinking of going. Don’t know if I am going to make it because I have not slept at all and I am sure that sooner or later the lack of sleep is going to hit me but we’ll see. If I end up going I will try to take some pictures to show you.

If you don’t understand why I say that today is Friday read this post and you’ll understand. Now, last week’s video was “Lick It Up” by non other than Kiss, one of my favorite bands. And that brings us to today’s video which I happen to like a lot and I know you will too.

No Sense Of Humor

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

As you all know I am a very optimistic and humorous guy but for some strange reason some of my co workers aren’t. Take for instance the fact that we work three days this week and we get a four day weekend. The way I see it we work Monday, Wednesday and Friday and get two Saturdays and two Sundays off, makes sense right?. When I mention that to some of my co workers they look at me like I am crazy and that reminds me of this post I wrote back in July. There are of course a few and I do mean a few that get my drift but the majority seem to be a lost cause. As for me you know that I am glad today is Wednesday and that Friday is just around the corner, a very short week indeed. I think I am going to pack my bags and go to Hawaii………………. forgot that I have no money, darn.

Sad, Sad Weekend

Monday, November 19th, 2007

Let me tell you about the weekend that was.

On Saturday I got home late and like any normal person I didn’t go to sleep, wait a second, is that really what a normal person does?. Anyway, as soon as I got home I got online to play Call Of Duty 4 and did not finish playing until about noon, yes noon. I then slept for about four hours and as a result when I woke up I was really tired. Watched some TV and checked my mail and went to bed at about 10:30 PM.

On Sunday I got up bright an early at 5 AM, checked my mail and then played COD 4 until about 8 AM, I just can’t seem to get enough of that game. Took a shower and got ready for the big game between the New England Revolution and the Houston Dynamo at 9 AM and as you all know I was going with New England. The first half was good and ended with a 1-0 lead in the Revolution’s favor but then in the second half everything fell apart and Houston ended up winning 2-1 becoming back to back champion. This MLS season was a total disappointment for me, my team didn’t make it to the finals and then the team I chose for the finals lost, what’s a guy to do?, wait for next season of course. I spent most of the afternoon either sad and lonely thinking about the game, surfing the net or playing COD 4 but by the time 8 PM came around I put the controller down and got ready for The Amazing Race, the episode was a lot of fun. When the show was over after a long day I was thinking about what to do next and in the end I decided to play some more, surprise surprise, after that I got online and surfed for a little and then went to bed tired and I have no one to blame but that guy in the mirror, I forgot that is me. The good thing about this week is that it’s only a three day work week and that means a four day weekend and you know how I like those, oh yeah!!.
