In The News
Friday, November 23rd, 2007Today is Friday and I don’t have to go to work thanks to the thanksgiving day holiday. That doesn’t mean that the news business stops so we bring you In The News because you need to be informed.
- Did you read about the rogue cell phone? It seems that a rogue cell phone keeps dialing 911, operators received about 400 calls last week and no one seems to be on the other line. Officials can’t locate the phone but have figured out that it is an old line not currently associated with a cell phone provider. Such phones, once charged up, can still place 911 calls under Federal Communications Commission rules set in 1994.
- Did you read about the EMIEW 2 robot? It seems that Hitachi unveiled a new light weight robot on Wednesday. Standing at 31.5 inches tall and weighing in at 29 pounds it can either walk on two legs or roll on two or four wheels while conversing. In a demonstration near Tokyo, Hitachi showed how the robot, clad in a red jacket and cap, could be used to bring drinks or paperwork or guide guests at an office. Where do I sign up for mine.
