Sunshine Yellow!!

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

My old laptop stopped working a while back but when I started blogging I realized that I needed to get another one as fast as I could. I was tired of being able to work on my posts only when I was home and that in itself was inefficient. I finally ordered a new one and got it last Monday, so I have been giving it the old test drive. I got me a sunshine yellow Dell Inspiron 1420 and for some strange reason I seem to be the only one that likes the color. I ordered a basic one with no bells or whistles because I mainly need it for two reasons, to get online and write my posts. The operating system is windows Vista and I am already used to it. It does have a webcam and so far I have not been able to make it work with any of my messengers but I am still working on it. Hopefully this will make things easier for me. I am going to be able to work on my posts while I am on a break, lunch and even in the bathroom…………………………I was kidding about that last one. So far everything has been great with no problems to report and that is the way I like it. A laptop falls in the, I really need it category, for one very important reason; it will things easier and more productive. Remember, work smarter not harder.

Almost Tuesday

Monday, July 30th, 2007

Another weekend is in the books and that can only mean one thing, back to work. I am ready and for some strange reason I can’t wait to get back to work. The weekend was real nice, slept a lot and since I am feeling so good I think I really needed that. I stayed home and didn’t do that much this weekend either, that seems to be turning into my regular weekend schedule. That will change at some point and when that happens you will know about it. I did watch some games this weekend, The First Annual Superliga Tournament started on Tuesday the 24th and is still going. The Superliga consist of 4 Mexican Teams and 4 MLS teams divided into 2 groups. The 4 time champion DC United is in first place in group B. I saw the game yesterday and they played really good, controlling the ball and constantly on the attack and as a result of that they won 1-0 against Club America. Now if they could only do the same in every game they play that would make me a very happy fan. If you want to know more about the Superliga just click here for more info. Lets make this week a very good one and remember, the weekend is just 4 days away.

In The News

Friday, July 27th, 2007

The calendar says that today is Friday which means that the weekend is not far behind. Put everything on hold and read In The News, voted the number one place for news by one person, I wonder who. Remember to always read responsibly.

  1. Did you read about the brave Chihuahua? It seems that a one year old was having fun at his grandparent’s backyard in Masonville, CO when a rattlesnake tried to strike the toddler. Zoey, a Chihuahua got in the way and took the bites. Zoey seemed like she was not going to make it for a while but she is going to be just fine.
  2. Did you read about Aquafina bottled water? It seems that PepsiCo Inc is going to spell out that its Aquafina bottled water is made with tap water. The words “Public Water Source” will be included in Aquafina labels. Bottled water from the tap huh, tell us something we didn’t already know.
  3. Did you read about the tallest building? The Burj Dubai will be the world’s tales building once it is completed at the end of 2008. At 1,680 feet, and still under construction, it surpassed Taiwan’s Taipei 101 which has been the tallest at 1,667 feet since 2004. Check the picture below.

Bank or BankING

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007

If you read my $300 post last Thursday you know I didn’t know quite what to do with all that money, if you haven’t click here to read it. I thought about it over the weekend and finally made a decision, which wasn’t that difficult to make to begin with. So I am going to do it, I am opening an ING Orange Savings Account with a 4.50 APY. I went to the ING website yesterday, clicked on the open by mail option, filled out the required info, printed and sent the form along with my check, the whole process was easy and took me less than five minutes. If you prefer instant gratification you can do the whole thing online as well. Remember to look around for the best deal possible and never ever settle for anything less, we are talking about our hard earned money after all. Stay tuned.
