Rainy Friday

Friday, April 20th, 2007

It has been raining on and off all morning here. The sun is out at this very moment but I am not taking any chances, I am taking my umbrella. Moving on to something else, the weekends is right around the corner and my team the 4 time champion D.C.United is idle this Saturday but there is still plenty of games to keep me busy. On Sunday maybe, just maybe I will play some basketball. Lot of stuff to do around the house you know. Have fun and take care and lets take care of each other out there ok, see you Monday.

In The News

Friday, April 20th, 2007

The weekend is hours away but before you make any plans sit down and read In The News, the only way to get your daily dose of news.

  1. Did you read about ?. The very popular site will start a news service that is to debut on Thursday as a "beta" test called My Space News. Users will vote to determine what other members can see in the front or section pages. It will never be as popular as our In The News section ;).
  2. Did you read about ?. It seems that Google plans to launch software to compete with Microsoft’s Power Point starting this summer. The main difference between the two is that Power Point has to be installed in your computer while Google’s can be used over the Internet. Two giants looking for a fight huh, we will have to wait and see what happens.

Blog Design

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

In the short time I have been blogging I have visited other blogs and have noticed their designs. Some have great looking blogs and some have ok looking blogs. This blog is in the latter category. It looks ok, it gets the job done and that is what matters. The design you see on this blog came from my webhost. I could choose from about 12 templates, and when I saw this one it caught my eye right away. I thought it looked nice, clean and simple back then and I still feel the same way now. I set it to show a max of 5 posts per page, I would not want you to keep scrolling down forever and ever because I know how annoying that gets. It is easy to get around and find what you are looking for and as you can see there isn’t anything, blinking or changing colors to make your eyes wonder away from what you are reading.

At some point the design will have to change. Why you ask?, good question. The answer is simple, to differentiate this blog from other blogs. To put my stamp on it, to be able to say, my design. There are new bloggers coming online all the time and more than one will surely settle for a design just like the one on this blog; and like me they at some point will feel the same way I do and will opt for a change. It is only natural to want to be different, right?. Blogging evolves, the more comfortable you become with everything on your blog the more you want to experiment with things. Don’t worry though, it will not happen overnight but when it does you can be sure that you will be the first ones to know.

Monday

Monday, April 16th, 2007

The weekend went like this, on Saturday I watched my 4 time champion D.C.United fall to the Kansas City Wizard 4-2. All I can say is, there is plenty of season left and I am calm, cool and collected. Sunday I stayed home, no, I didn’t play basketball. I did a lot of stuff at home, did some shredding, got my comic book collection in order and found out I am missing 2 issues. A thunderstorm dropped by complete with, what else, thunder, lighting and heavy rain, there is something you don’t see that often in LA. And that was pretty much how the weekend was. Nothing fancy just lots to do around the house.
